Akufo-Addo’s message to the people of Dagbon

President Akufo-Addo has asked ‘sons and daughters’ of Dagbon to unite behind the new Yaa Naa, Mahama Abubakari II.

He has also asked the security services not to rest because there are some who are not happy with the current state of Dagbon.

According to him, “…we have to bear in mind that there will be a small minority who will not be happy with the new status quo” adding there are people who have “benefited for a long time from the conflict and never wanted to see its end. We are not to rest on our laurels and assume that every citizen of Dagbon is elated about the new peace and enskinment of the new Yaa Naa”.

“we have to be resolute in warding off such people by strengthening the process of reconciliation. We are not to fear the strategy of our enemies…Dagbon does not have to fear an external enemy…I, therefore, call on all sons and daughters to unite behind the new Yaa Naa” he added.

Giving his speech at the outdooring of the new Yaa Naa of Dagbon, Akufo-Addo said “as President of the Republic I feel a sense of excitement because it is under my tenure of office that Dagbon finally finds a path to lasting peace. That is why I congratulate the committee of eminent chiefs chaired by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II…”
